Dipstick is made by one person. Email gets read.
Email chris@dipstickcarcare.com — questions, bugs, or an idea for what it should do next.
If you're on the beta, the fastest route is the feedback screen inside the app: it attaches what version you're on, which saves a round of questions.
Do I need an account?
No, and there isn't one to make. Open the app and start adding vehicles. Signing in with Apple is optional and only sets a private identifier on your device.
Where is my data kept?
On your iPhone, and in your own iCloud account if you're signed into iCloud. Nothing goes to a server belonging to Dipstick, because there isn't one. See the privacy policy.
How do I share a car with someone?
Open the vehicle, tap Share, and send the invitation. They tap it and the car appears in their garage with its history. Both of you can log fill-ups and services, and both get the reminders. Either of you can stop sharing at any time.
Why is my MPG missing on a fill-up?
Miles per gallon is measured between two full tanks. A partial fill has no measurable boundary, so it shows no figure of its own — but its gallons are counted in the next full tank, so nothing is lost. Untick "Full tank" when you only topped up and the numbers stay honest.
The receipt scan got a number wrong
Tap the fill-up and edit it. The scan is a shortcut, not the last word, and the app now flags a price or a volume that looks implausible rather than accepting it silently. Retaking the photo from the fill-up screen also works if the shot was rushed.
Can I get my data out?
Yes, and without asking anyone. The fuel log and the service history both export as a PDF, as a CSV spreadsheet, or as a spreadsheet zipped together with the receipt photographs. Share button, top right of either list.
Which iPhones does it run on?
iPhone running iOS 17 or later. There's an iPad layout too. No Android and no web version, and there's no point pretending otherwise.
How do I join or leave the beta?
The beta runs through Apple's TestFlight app. Join from the home page. To leave, delete Dipstick from TestFlight — and export anything you want to keep first, since removing a beta app removes its data with it.

Email chris@dipstickcarcare.com. Say what vehicle, what you tapped and what happened; a screenshot helps more than anything.
